: FRIM @Kepong :)

Hello to all my fellow blog viewers !!
It's been quite a time I hadn't post my blog
Sorry for the inconvenience :P
Lazy, tired and also no time.

Well, Today I have something interesting stuffs to share with you guys today
Have you guys heard of FRIM? FRIM: Forest Research Institute Malaysia
Ya, so here it is. :)
I participated in the ''Young Voices for Conservation'' which is an environmental program
And sort of like a project as well..
My school - SMK Seksyen 3 Bandar Kinrara
was one of the 12 schools.
So we were asked to go to FRIM as we will be gaining our 30 marks from there

We left school at around 7.30am +
We were going to SMK Batu 8 to pick them up as we we are going to share the bus
The morning traffic was terrible, but we still managed to reach there
Oh ya, the most epic part was when Harini and Sue, both of them were super hyper
Guess what they did?  They just waved and smiled to any strangers they meet during the traffic.
And they smiled back too !! That was like, so THOR-SOME
(I don't really know what happened to facebook today, everyone seems obsessed with Thor.. And it's effecting me now.  Currently, changed my awesome to thor-some, it's kinda cool though XD)
Kay, Let's get back to topic..

Reached FRIM:
Brought our bags down the bus and put it under another bus
Take along the things we need, like : Towels, Insect repellents and water tumblers
I just took my towel.  That's all =P
Sat the bus again *without bags*
A short drive, we arrived at the place where we have our breakfast
*Nom nom nom* The food was simply delicious; Fried Bihun with a cup of Milo with condensed milk..
After eating, have some toilet breaks and off we go.
Our tour guide, gave us some short briefings on our safeties and also the things we shouldn't do as well.
I used Jonathan's ''mini book'' and Ying's mechanical pencil to jot down all the important informations.
I think I just jot down whatever I heard =X

Lemme recall...
The first thing we saw, was the Arapaima fish.  It was so freaking big and huge, like you can't even ever imagined. There were only three there and this fishes was brought in from the Amazon forest.. How cool huh?
Next, while walking across the small bridge where we saw the fishes.  Our tour guide introduced us to a tree which is called the -Japanese tree
We were asked to pluck a leaf from the tree and crunch it *with hands* and smell it..
Hmmm... What a nice and fragrant smell :D
After that, the exciting part starts.. We're going into the jungle !!
The one I find it interesting is this.. Giant Bamboo
Our tour guide said that, The Amazing Race has came here before to complete their challenge by climbing the bamboo tree and get the flag on top.. Cool!!

While walking into the jungle,
Our TG introduced us to many and all kinds of trees.. Each kind of trees has it's own uniqueness
While walking more further down..
This was what we saw - Canopy :)
This is really eyes-catchy, Why is it formed like this?
Our TG said that it's because of the chemicals found inside the leaves made it like this.
Woahh!! I love nature XD

Next next,
This is a called toilet tree, It looks familiar though..

After that, it's time for a toilet break..
Then, we have a way more long journey to go.
We walked like hell, it was super tiring and we we're all exhausted
But till we walked half way, there's a small rest stop.  We rest there awhile while waiting for the others.
But still, we have to move on.. Walked a long way..Finally we reached to the top !!
And it's time for canopy walk..
Although it looks scary, but it doesn't :)
It's fun though
Look!! There's me XD
#I'm lame XD

After that, walking the canopy walk..
All of us went back down and went to a small river area.
Where LUAS people are going to give us a brief on waters..
This is called the Qua-Qua activity
which is also known as quality and quantity
There, we  know how to determine whether the water is clean or not
using 3 methods, we can find out
-Physical
-Chemistry
-Biology
Physical: looking around the surroundings
Chemistry: taking river water and place the tablets in to see the change of color of the water to detemine the oxygen, cleanliness of water etc
Biology: catching the creatures which are found in the river, and in the end, we determine the type of insects and then calculate the marks

After all the experiments we did..
It's time for us to leave and have our lunch :D
Then, we also get to play and swim in the one feet river..
But I didn't went in as the water is kinda dirty
Everyone's enjoying nature.. haha XD

After playing, everyone changed into their dry clothes and off we go back to school
and back home ^_______^

I really enjoyed my day today
It was a fun and thor-some experience I had
especially the Canopy Walk..
Although walking up the forest was super tiring, but it was worth it though =D

OK See ya guys on the next post
Take care and good night =D
